Flamingos at the Bronx Zoo

The Flamingos at the Bronx Zoo are all different!

The American Flamingo, and the Chilean Flamingo are two of the different kinds of Flamingos found at the Bronx Zoo, but do you know the difference between them ?

The American Flamingo

The American Flamingo has a deep pink plumage, unlike other species of Flamingos. They can also be identified by their pink legs, and orange-yellow eyes.

  The Chilean Flamingo

  Unlike the American Flamingo, the Chilean Flamingo has a lighter pink plumage. They also have grey legs with pink leg-joints, which look like knee pads. In addition, their eyes are a pale yellow color.
